DataHawk combines cyber vaulting, threat intelligence and scanning, and machine learning-based data classification to effectively protect against the cyber attacks of today and tomorrow
Milan – 17 November 2022 – Cohesity, a leader in innovative data management, today announced Cohesity DataHawk, a data security software as a service (SaaS) solution that helps customers protect, detect and recover from cyberattacks and ransomware.
DataHawk combines three critical security features into a single SaaS solution: the threat protection by scanning for attack indicators and malware; there data classification based on Machine Learning that provides high accuracy in identifying and detecting sensitive or critical data; The awarded cyber vaulting through Cohesity FortKnox.
With this data-centric approach, DataHawk enables organizations to easily protect, detect and recover data following a ransomware or other cyber attack. DataHawk includes the following key features:
- Threat intelligence that can save the day: DataHawk incorporates a deep learning-based ransomware detection engine. It also provides intelligent threat protection with rapid scanning for anomalies, potential threats and other indicators of a ransomware attack. DataHawk integrates a series of highly curated and managed Indicators of Compromise (IOC) threat feeds, updated daily.
- Data classification to quickly assess impact: When under attack, organizations want to quickly understand the potential impact on their most valuable data. DataHawk leverages the world-class classification technology of BigID to accurately discover and classify large data sets, to help minimize risk, improve security posture and understand the impact of an attack. Customers can save time searching for false positives and get to resolution faster with more than 200 built-in classifiers and machine learning-based algorithms to analyze, label, categorize, and classify datasets. Default policies for privacy and data protection regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Payment Card Industry (PCI), and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), help organizations quickly identify and prioritize these sensitive data sets.
- Cyber vaulting that ensures data recovery and resiliency when it's needed most: Organizations should always maintain separate copies of critical applications and data as part of a 3-2-1 strategy to build cyber resilience. With Cohesity FortKnox, included in DataHawk, customers can secure an offsite copy of data in a modern cloud-based cyber vaulting service, where data is kept safe from cybercriminals through a virtual air gap. Archived data can be retrieved from this Cohesity-managed cloud vault and returned to its original location or to alternative locations, including the public cloud.
Another benefit customers will get with DataHawk is a growing list of integrations with leading cybersecurity vendors that help IT and security create a modern, automated Security Operation Center (SOC). Leveraging Cohesity's API-first extensible platform, DataHawk is designed to integrate with leading SIEM vendors, including, for example, select vendors joining Cohesity in Data Security Alliance.
“IT and security teams are under undue pressure, constantly trying to manage a sea of infrastructure and working day and night to stay one step ahead of cybercriminals,” he said Mohit Aron, Fondatore e Chief Technology and Product Officer di Cohesity. "The key to keeping businesses running is to minimize the impact of a potential breach by bringing data security directly into the operational workflow, protecting data at the source and quickly recovering critical workloads, so IT and security teams can free up time for other business-critical tasks. This is DataHawk's goal."
"Minimizing the impact of cyberattacks and ransomware is essential to keeping business operations running smoothly. This requires classifying the data that matters most to your organization, quickly identifying attack indicators, and quickly recovering workloads," he said Jennifer Glenn, Research Director for Information and Data Security di IDC. “Integrating data classification and recovery capabilities via a SaaS platform, such as Cohesity's DataHawk, can help reduce the burden on IT and security teams and help them stay one step ahead of cyber attackers.”
“Cybercrime is an increasingly serious threat to businesses, so we need the best solutions and technologies to protect our customers,” he said Chris Konrad, Area Vice President Cyber, Global Accounts di World Wide Technology. "The breadth and depth of Cohesity's security ecosystem is remarkable and helps solve some of the most important challenges our customers face. With the broad threat protection, detection and recovery capabilities DataHawk provides, we are more confident than ever that we have a solution that helps protect and extract more value from our customers' data."
