Wojtek Piorko will be responsible for driving business growth and increasing market presence in the region
Vertiv, (NYSE: VRT), a global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, has announced the appointment of a new Managing Director in Africa. Vertiv has promoted Wojtek Piorko with immediate effect from his previous role as Regional Director of South East Africa. The current role of Managing Director was held by Pierre Havenga, who leaves Vertiv at the end of June after 12 years of strategic leadership in the region.
"Wojtek joined the Middle East and Africa (MEA) team eight years ago and in this time he has gained great experience in different sectors and regions, overcoming every challenge brilliantly. I have always been able to count on him and any assignment has never been too burdensome or demanding", says Havenga. "Wojtek has strong leadership skills and we appreciate his focus on people. It is with great pleasure that I pass the baton to him to promote Vertiv's business in Africa to the next level."
As Managing Director of Vertiv in Africa, Piorko will stimulate the growth of the business and the consequent diffusion of products and services on the market, as well as pursuing turnover, profit and order objectives. He will manage, coordinate and refine business activities in the region, balancing the entire portfolio to increase customer satisfaction in Africa, while implementing go-to-market strategies in coordination with various functional leaders.
Piorko will assume regional leadership for the sales, services, operations and technical resources teams, as well as the finance, HR, IT, legal and marketing departments, to build a close-knit team and meet Vertiv's objectives in the region.

Piorko began his professional career at Vertiv in 2001 as a sales manager in Poland and the Baltics, Ukraine and Belarus. He completed his studies at the Technical University of Warsaw in the faculty of Mechanics, Robotics and Aeronautical Engineering. He has more than 25 years of technical and managerial experience, working in various sectors, from telecommunications to IT.
