Vertiv, (NYSE: VRT), a global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, has signed a contract with the Swedish company EcoDataCenter for the supply of high-efficiency chilled water cooling solutions for the state-of-the-art EcoDataCenter infrastructure being built in Falun, Sweden.
EcoDataCenter, a company founded in 2014, is experiencing great acceptance thanks to its cutting-edge data centers and continues to grow and expand its activities to support the increased demand for artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing (HPC). EcoDataCenter's commitment to sustainability is perfectly aligned with Vertiv's attention to efficient infrastructure and environmental management models. It was therefore completely natural for the organization to extend the collaboration contract with Vertiv, choosing the company as a solution provider for the new project. EcoDataCenter operates several data center facilities in four locations in Sweden.
The entry into operation of the two new data centers in Falun is scheduled for early 2025. The project involves the installation of 96 chilled water air conditioning units Vertiv™ Liebert® PCW for a total capacity of approximately 12 MW. These floor-mounted systems feature optimized batteries and an aerodynamic design of internal components, including patented elements, which help reduce energy consumption. Furthermore, the units are customizable according to customer needs, allowing for greater cooling efficiency and effective reuse of waste heat.
"We opted for Vertiv cooling systems due to the solutions' energy-efficient and reliable features, exceptional expertise and support. Vertiv is quick to translate technological advances into products and their innovations integrate seamlessly with our implementations," says Mikael Svanfeldt, CTO of EcoDataCenter.
"This framework agreement with EcoDataCenter is a confirmation for Vertiv in the Swedish market. EcoDataCenter and Vertiv have a long-standing collaboration aimed at applying innovative, efficient and reliable solutions to support EcoDataCenter's sustainability objectives. Sharing each other's expertise helps both companies anticipate future needs", says Victor Elm, strategic segment and partners director, colocation and hyperscale for Northern Europe at Vertiv.
The two companies plan to continue technological collaboration to support AI and HPC applications.
